Friday theme, Belief, Hope and Love

Todays friday theme is belief hope and love, and is something that I hope everyone has. They say that hope is the last thing that leaves your body before you completely loose it, with hope you can at least think that it will get better in the future.I am not that religious but I believe in a bunch of other things in the world, such as climate change. I always hope that things are going to work out in the end, which it usually does. All you have to do is believe in yourself, right? But sometimes, when im standing there in the middle of nowhere, I wonder where we are headed in this world, or at least where I am headed... I am a thinker, and that means I spend a lot of time overanalyzing things, and worrying about things, thats why sometimes people can catch me pondering about life. Speaking about love, it's the love I have for my family and friends, who I don't see that much any longer, but I miss them a lot. Luckily I have W. And then, Olive of course, she is such a sweet kitty and Tycho of course, little sweet Tycho, that doesn't have any ears...

Friday Theme, Big and small

Todays Friday theme is Big and Small! When you live here you always see contrasts like this big and small. How small we are on this planet! This huge planet, we are just a small small part of it. This is something I think about a lot.

These thermokarst, seen above can be huge! Such an amazing creation by mother earth but also so alarming.

This little baby bear probably had a big mama somewhere close....luckily we did not run in to them.

Big 18 wheeler look pretty small in front of the mountains

It's all about perspective, right? big and small, near and close. This large 18 wheeler truck looks pretty small in comparison to the mountains in the background. Have you guys ever seen a glacier? I can tell you that they are pretty big, and we are so small in comparison. This is from Juneau, and we spotted some people that probably had been ice climbing on the glacier. They looked so tiny in comparison to that huge glacier. Still see them? Sometimes the moon look so big, and sometimes so small. It is really fascinating how it can differ from time to time. Anyway, I still feel really small in this big big world. Now it's time to sleep! Have a good night!

Friday Theme, Books

With books in the center of the universe today, for the Friday theme I am inviting you into our book case. Which isn't that huge, it is pretty small actually. We have two bookshelves, the main one is upstairs and the second one is downstairs, and dedicated to cooking books.

Most of these are mine, cause I got into climbing when I got here, and winter happen, and darkness and that means that I had a lot of time for reading, and exercising in the gym....

These are mine too, but to be really honest, I haven read them since I got here (a few of them might have been purchased here..), I read them a loong long time ago. Seems like I could almost get rid of them....but it hurts a little in my heart when i throw things away.

This is the most recent book I bought, still haven't read it though. I bought it in a bookstore called...mermaid something down in Homer. I hope I am going to have time to read it this winter.
