Adventure Tuesday

Our life is our greatest adventure

I often stop and think about how lucky I feel. Sure, there are times when I feel sad and lonely, because living in a different country does affect you in some way. But then I think about everything I get to experience over here, everything I get to see. Obviously I have my family on this side of the ocean now too which helps a lot. It's like a balance between your past, present and future. Sacrifice does come into play there too a lot, or is it a sacrifice, or just a way of life, a decision? I have seen so much, so many places that are on a lot of peoples bucketlists, and yet I crave more. I want to see more, I want to be in nature all the time.

Adventure

I can't wait to go on another adventure, even though we have been traveling quite a bit lately. Every time we go somewhere and see new and cool places I always fall back on Alaska and Montana. Who knows where we will move in the future, it probably wont be Alaska, but I keep comparing every place to Alaska and Montana. Those two states are the heart of this country to me, that is where I can see myself settle down and adventure on.

Colorado

Not too long ago we went to Colorado, only for a few days, but we did do some adventuring there too of course.

Hiking in Colorado

Even though we had only gotten a few hours sleep, got on a plane and then drove for four hours we still managed to get out for a hike.

Colorado, what a beautiful place.

We definitely want to go back there, and we have a few friends who lives there now so that will most likely happen in the future! Who knows, maybe Colorado will fall into that list of mine too, the possibilities are endless and completely open I suppose.

If you could pick a place to settle down, where would that be? Or maybe you already found your dream home?

The traveling kind?

Update

I have been so busy lately, so I actually haven't been able to update you guys as much as I would like to, but I'll try my best. I also do try to have an English and Swedish section for my blogpost so if you want to read any of the recent blogposts in Swedish check back in a few weeks and I will make sure all of them have a Swedish part. We have been traveling the past couple of days so I'll share some Iphone pictures of my recent trip with you! I will most likely write some more and longer posts about this past trip, and also the Colorado trip so stay tuned!

Old Friends are the Best of Friends?

We all traveled down to Florida to see one of W's best friends get married. W was a groomsman together with two other long-term friends/best friends (in my opinion the long-term friends are usually the best of friends). We flew into New Orleans and then drove through a total of four states (6 states if you include Wisconsin and Illinois which was the start of our trip). New Orleans is in Louisiana, after that we have Mississippi, then Alabama and finally Florida!

Tears, Laughter and Happiness

I have never (at least I can't remember) seen such white sand as I did in Florida. We had such a great time. Building on our friendship, well the ladies, laughing about old memories and new memories, crying because of lost friends (The boys lost a dear friend back in March who was also suppose to be a part of the wedding party), pouring out a beer in the ocean for him, promising to always meet at least once a year, buying a half box of oysters and then shucking them and consume them together with Prosecco, whiskey, beer and key lime pie, adventuring out on the beach in pitch black condition to stargaze, witnessing a beautiful wedding on the beach in the white sand, seeing the boys come out to some Bob Marley music at the wedding, and just having a wonderful time! I would call that a great weekend.

Have you guys done any adventuring or traveling lately?

Wednesday Thoughts

"The beautiful changes as a forest is changed
By a chameleon’s tuning his skin to it;
As a mantis, arranged
On a green leaf, grows
Into it, makes the leaf leafier, and proves
Any greenness is deeper than anyone knows" - Richard Wilbur

Fall Fell Somewhere

We went to Colorado this past weekend, and I get it, Colorful Colorado! Well, Alaska gets really colorful during fall too, but I haven't even experienced fall here in the midwest yet. The temperatures in the midwest are still lingering close to 80F if you are unlucky, but drops down into the 50-60's during the night, FINALLY. In Alaska on the other hand, all leaves are already gone by now. A year ago around this time we got our first big snowfall, and September turned out to be one of the snowiest on record.

Look out for more posts about colorful Colorado, obviously I have a lot more pictures to share :)
